It's a good thing to see Kovacic play again for the Blues after picking up an ankle ligament damage during the FA Cup semi-final
A positive upgrade for Chelsea as the likes of Andreas Christensen, Mateo Kovacic and Ross Barkley return to training ahead of Sunday's game against Everton.
It's good to see Kovacic back in action for the Blues after suffering an ankle ligament injury in the FA Cup semi-final against Crystal Palace.
Kovacic was substituted midway through the first half and has not played a game for Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Andreas Christensen was changed from the first eleven against West Ham due to stomach upset and possibly missed the midweek travel to Old Trafford.
However, during the midweek game against Manchester United, Ross Barkley also retired due to illness.
However, it's unclear if Thomas Tuchel could use them against the Toffees despite the trio returning from injuries.
Kovacic, who attended Friday's practice session, could be considered fit to form the team of the day alongside Christensen and Barkley.
However, given Chelsea's current level of fitness, the Blues are believed to be in solid form to claim a place in the Champions League.
Thomas Tuchel's side are currently six points behind fourth-placed Arsenal and eight behind fifth-placed Tottenham.
Meanwhile more Eight points would, however, secure Chelsea a place in next season's Champions League as the Blues have a chance to move closer with a win at Goodison Park, although it may not be easy.
The club world champions have struggled with their current stadium visits. They haven't won their last three games at Goodison.
Everton, who are in a relegation battle, will not make it easy for them.
